Choose SynthTab Universal, GuitarSet, EGDB or IDMT for clean/acoustic and matched guitar domains, or GuitarProFX TabCNN for electric-guitar tones and effects. The models predict six-string fret positions; TelkNet exports note events, six-track MIDI and timestamped tablature.
Analyze the original beats after transcription and write the tempo to MIDI, preserving note timing.

SynthTab: Leveraging Synthesized Data for Guitar Tablature Transcription
ICASSP - 2024
Choose SynthTab Universal, GuitarSet, EGDB or IDMT for clean/acoustic and matched guitar domains, or GuitarProFX TabCNN for electric-guitar tones and effects. The models predict six-string fret positions; TelkNet exports note events, six-track MIDI and timestamped tablature. Noise2Fret proposes string and fret positions; SynthTab supplies pitches and note timing. Export six-string MIDI, tablature and raw predictions.
Leveraging Real Electric Guitar Tones and Effects to Improve Robustness in Guitar Tablature Transcription Modeling

Guitar Tablature Estimation with a Convolutional Neural Network
ISMIR - 2019
Choose SynthTab Universal, GuitarSet, EGDB or IDMT for clean/acoustic and matched guitar domains, or GuitarProFX TabCNN for electric-guitar tones and effects. The models predict six-string fret positions; TelkNet exports note events, six-track MIDI and timestamped tablature. Generates playable fingering from CrispASR predictions, with a maximum hand span of 5 frets.
Analyze the original beats after transcription and write the tempo to MIDI, preserving note timing.
Workflow
1Upload solo guitar and choose a model for its acoustic or electric tone.
2Download tablature and MIDI, then check strings and frets against the recording.
What to check
If other instruments are mixed in, separate them first before transcribing
Models in this field
9 entries
Includes public test results for models used here and elsewhere. The complete source table is shown by default; conditions and metrics can also be selected for comparison. Scores from different test conditions are not directly comparable.
Only records with verified public inference implementations and matching weights are shown; algorithms requiring no weights are also eligible. Closed services, unreleased weights and unmatched experiment versions are excluded. This is not an all-model leaderboard.
Public weights do not establish a fully open-source license. Expand the data for declared weight licenses and access conditions. Undeclared licenses are marked separately.
GuitarSet · Ten complete recordings
Choose a dataset to view all metrics for each model. Rows follow the official rank or selected metric. Bold marks each column’s best comparable value, including ties. Different evaluation protocols are ranked separately; missing scores are shown as -.
Mean per-recording F1 on the same ten complete acoustic-guitar recordings, without separation. Tolerances: onset 50 ms, pitch 50 cents, offset max(20% duration, 50 ms). Noise2Fret uses SynthTab pitch and timing. Training overlap for other models is unconfirmed; results do not cover the full dataset, electric guitar or mixtures.
Scores apply to the listed dataset, metric and model version; results from different tests are not directly comparable.
The table includes only models with public weights or configurations that can run locally.
TabCNN evaluation on real electric guitar (EGSet12)
Choose a dataset to view all metrics for each model. Rows follow the official rank or selected metric. Bold marks each column’s best comparable value, including ties. Different evaluation protocols are ranked separately; missing scores are shown as -.
Under the same EGSet12 protocol in the pinned model card, the GuitarProFX checkpoint reaches 0.59 frame-level tablature micro F1, versus about 0.45 for the vanilla GuitarSet model.
